1 Million Black is the first real reinvention the line has had in years, and it goes tropical. Roasted pineapple leads — caramelized rather than juicy — with blood orange and cardamom giving the opening a spiced lift. The heart is where it turns creamy: an overdosed vanilla accord layered with coconut and clary sage. Ebony wood, patchouli, and tonka bean close it out dry and warm, pulling the sweetness back before it tips into dessert. The pineapple carries the whole wear, slowly fading rather than disappearing.

Composed by Christophe Raynaud and Quentin Bisch and released in 2026 as a new pillar, not a flanker. The gold ingot gets its first serious redesign since 2008 — full metallic black around an oversized "1."

An honest read on the reception: it's divided. Fans call it the best-blended thing the line has produced, easy to wear, and genuinely all-season. Critics find it close to 1 Million Night Elixir and Elixir, and say the sweetness reads synthetic. Rabanne markets a 48-hour trail; wearers report strong projection for the first hour or so and above-average longevity after that.
