Essential Parfums Bois Impérial - 5ML Decant (Pre-Order)
Bois Impérial is one of the few genuinely modern niche woods that earned its reputation honestly. Thai basil gives it a green, crushed-herb lift, Nepalese timut pepper brings sparkling peppery and grapefruit facets, and Haitian vetiver adds an earthy backbone. The signature is akigalawood — an upcycled patchouli derivative that smells like polished cedar, pepper, and clean musk — supported by Georgywood, Petalia, Indonesian patchouli, and Ambrofix. Diffusive, luminous, and easy to wear in almost any setting.
Composed by Quentin Bisch for Essential Parfums in 2020. Notably it's a 16% concentration and 93% natural origin, in a refillable bottle. Reviewers call it a four-season workhorse — office, daytime, evening — with above-average projection and longevity. It has its detractors, mostly people who find the akigalawood too loud, so sampling first is fair.
Worth noting: Essential Parfums publishes this as a blended ingredient list rather than a top/heart/base pyramid, so it's listed that way below rather than split into tiers that don't officially exist.
Full bottles are 100ml and run about $130, with 150ml refills available. Hand-filled 5ml from an authentic bottle — around 60+ sprays.
Notes: Thai Basil, Nepalese Timut Pepper, Haitian Vetiver, Georgywood, Petalia, Akigalawood, Indonesian Patchouli, Ambrofix
